Region 2 Area Agency on Aging Save Haven for Seniors Region 2 Area Agency on Aging is looking to partner with local families or individuals willing to volunteer their homes as temporary safe havens for seniors in a situation of abuse and neglect. We are also looking for individuals that can serve as peer supports to program participants. The goal of this initiative is to develop a temporary emergency housing program to improve elder abuse prevention efforts in the Jackson area.
Dahlem Conservancy Center preschool and Education projects answering phones, cash register sales in the Gift Shop, land stewardship, light maintenance
City Of Zion Ministries Food Pantry Unload truck and stock food
Greater Jackson Habitat for Humanity A Brush with Kindness A Brush with Kindness is a neighborhood revitalization program in Jackson County aimed at helping low income homeowners who are struggling to maintain the exterior of their homes. We do things like paint and power wash the outside of homes, minor exterior home repairs as well as landscaping.
The Salvation Army Day Camp Starting in June until the Middle of August 11-4pm. Supervise the 23 children in the day camp. Serve as a chaperone to our field trips. Help with serving lunch or snack. Be a game coordinator or Bible Study leader.
The Salvation Army Donut Day Help distribute information on donut day (The Salvation Army’s history dating back to WWI) pass out coupons for donuts and collect donations.
Kids 'N' Stuff A night of Magic and Muggles An evening event all about the world of Harry Potter. We are looking for volunteers that enjoy the wizarding world to help with the events activities.
SouthernCare Hospice Administrative Volunteer Looking for volunteers who would like to gain experience in the healthcare field. Volunteers are responsible for creating packets, organizing binders, answering phones, and filing. We do not require a schedule, you can volunteer on days and times that work for you. Orientation and background check required.
SouthernCare Hospice Music Volunteers Do you play an instrument? Do you love to sing? Looking for musically inclined people to brighten our patient’s day. Music has proven to improve people’s mood and demeanor. Volunteers can give as much time as they are able. Orientation and background check required.
SouthernCare Hospice Patient Visitation Looking for volunteers who would be interested in providing our patients with with supportive, compassionate, friendly visits. Volunteers make their own schedule with a minimum of 15-30 minutes twice a month. Volunteers can assist with a variety of things including bingo, ice cream socials, game nights, reading, music entertainment, etc. Orientation and background check required.TB test and CPR certification are provided.

ENERGIZING EDUCATION: Advancing reading skills of elementary students
In-school mentors’ primary job is to assist students in kindergarten through third grade in practicing their literacy skills, with the goal of reaching grade level milestones by the end of the year. Click here for more information.
