Greater Jackson Habitat For Humanity Construction Volunteer Want to build with a team and have fun at the same time? Anyone who enjoys swinging a hammer, hanging drywall, painting, and being a part of a one-day per week team should join us. Habitat for Humanity invites you to participate as a consistent volunteer. We can train you – you needn’t be a skilled tradesman or woman – just willing to help with our mission of building homes and building lives. Greater Jackson Habitat for Humanity needs volunteers 18 and over, willing to give one day per week on Monday, Wednesdays or Thursday to serve as a part of a construction crew. Greater Jackson Habitat For Humanity ReStore Volunteer The ReStore sells new and gently used housewares, furniture, and building supplies. We need volunteers to serve in the store.
Arbor Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center Activities Department If you are looking for ways to reach out and touch someone's life, a great place to start is by volunteering at Arbor Manor Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. There are many wonderful opportunities to make a difference in the lives of others. Volunteers will: perform 1:1 visits Help with scheduled group activities Take a resident outdoors (weather providing) Pet visits (need updated shot record) Provide entertainment (sing, play an instrument) Perform manicures Read to the residents Listen to life stories Reminisce about the "Good ole' Days" Help with gardening projects Assist with scrapbooking Help with crafts Play games and cards
SouthernCare Hospice Hospice Volunteers Do you have a need for a little something more in your life…something that can provide a strong sense of connection and fulfillment? Are you looking for a way to share your knowledge, talent and heart that will have a meaningful impact on the lives of others? Our volunteers tell us that volunteering with SouthernCare Hospice is life-changing and one of the most rewarding experiences of their lives.
American Red Cross Blood Drive Volunteer Registration area is where we welcome our blood donors, registering them on a computer then directing them to the pre-donation reading materials and waiting area. Canteen area is where we sit with the volunteers after they have given blood. Serving refreshments and snacks. Engaging in light conversation and watching the donor to make sure they are feeling well. MUST be over the age of 14 to Volunteer.

Heartland Hospice Visit Patients We have several patients in the area that need a friendly visitor to brighten their day. Volunteers decide the days and times they visit. We ask volunteers to visit once a week. Patient visit volunteers can talk to patients, play games, watch movies or simply hold someone's hand. Volunteers are a vital part of our mission to provide compassionate care to people in need.
City of Zion Ministries Food Pantry Help pick up food,unload and distribute to families
Community Action Agency Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Volunteers needed for CAA's VITA Program. At various locations within Jackson County, Community Action Agency provides trained volunteers who can prepare and electronically submit an individual’s income tax return for free.
Reality's Chance Horse Sanctuary Help The Horses of Reality's Chance Sanctuary Reality's Chance is a horse sanctuary located in Jackson County that rescues any horse that comes to us in need as well as shedding light on the treatment of Mustangs in America. Ongoing volunteer opportunities from grooming, feeding, gardening, mending fences, cleaning pastures and community outreach.

ENERGIZING EDUCATION: Advancing reading skills of elementary students
