Big Brothers Big Sisters BIGS in Schools This is a one hour a week mentoring program meeting during the school day. Mentors will be matched with a child to provide a supportive relationship as a role model, adviser and most importantly, a friend. Orientation and background check required.
Big Brothers Big Sisters Community BIGS : This is a one hour a week mentoring program meeting outside the school day. Mentors will be matched with a child to provide a supportive relationship as a role model, advisor and most importantly, a friend. Orientation and background check required.
Our Neighbor's Keeper Deliver Furniture We give free furniture to the homeless and less fortunate once they obtain housing we deliver to their door and they take it from there unless disabled we need help please usually a few hours on Saturdays Thanks so very much.
SouthernCare Hospice Patient Visits Looking for volunteers who would be interested in providing our patients with friendly visits. Volunteers make their own schedule with a minimum of 15 minutes twice a month. Volunteers can assist with a variety of things including bingo, ice cream socials, game nights, music entertainment, etc. Orientation and background check required.
SouthernCare Hospice Administrative Volunteer Looking for volunteers who would like to gain experience in the healthcare field. Volunteers are responsible for creating packets, organizing binders and filing. We do not require a schedule, you can volunteer on days and times that work for you. Orientation and background check required.
SouthernCare Hospice Music Volunteers Do you play an instrument? Do you love to sing? Looking for musically inclined people to brighten our patient’s day. Music has proven to improve people’s mood and demeanor. Volunteers can give as much time as they are able. Orientation and background check required.
John George Home Music Entertainment We are looking for energetic volunteers who can share their love of music with our residents. Any type of instrument is welcome including singing. Schedule is very flexible.
John George Home Craft Helpers Looking for craft volunteers to make some fun projects with our men. They would love to be taught how to make something to display in their room. Volunteers can help with crafts we have planned or bring ideas of their own. Some residents have limitations so please keep crafts simple and easy to do. Schedule is very flexible.
Jackson County Department of Human Services Volunteer Transporter Volunteer will provide transportation to DHS customers with medical appointments or visitation appointments between parents and their children when other alternatives are not available. The volunteer will be expected to coordinate with case worker and families based on information received from case workers. DHS will reimburse the volunteer for mileage expenses and meals based on timing of trip. Background check required.
Red Cross Blood Drive Volunteers Looking for volunteers to assist with local blood drives. Volunteers assist with registering blood donors for their donations and help in the canteen area. Volunteers also assist with setting up and tearing down the blood drive. Our schedule changes every month based on site. Orientation and background check required. Schedule is very flexible.

ENERGIZING EDUCATION: Advancing reading skills of elementary students
In-school mentors’ primary job is to assist students in kindergarten through third grade in practicing their literacy skills, with the goal of reaching grade level milestones by the end of the year. Click here for more information.
