Community Steps Up to “Triple Match Monday”
Over $75,000 raised to help Jackson County residents in need
Over $25,000 in community donations was matched two to one by United Way and other funders to raise over $75,000 to help Jackson County residents during these difficult economic times. Over 130 individuals and organizations provided donations ranging from one dollar to four thousand dollars.
Neighbors In Need donations are already at work providing utility assistance, transportation assistance and homelessness prevention through several local agencies. Expansion of local food pantry capacity is expected to begin in the next few weeks.
On behalf of all Jackson County residents in need, we’d like to thank the over 100 individuals and the following organizations for participating in “Triple Match Monday.”

We have focused on three important areas:
- Food assistance to prevent hunger.
- Homelessness prevention and emergency shelter.
- Increasing access to community services.
We hope to achieve some ambitious goals:
- Provide an additional 350,000 meals through our food pantries.
- Keep over 500 families from becoming homeless.
- Make sure critical human services are accessible to an additional 4,000 people during this crisis.
To accomplish these goals, we’ll need your support:
- Raise approximately $650,000 in funds.
- Mobilize an additional 500 volunteers.
- Remove barriers to improve delivery of services.
By providing these additional resources to existing organizations in Jackson County already doing the work, we can quickly and efficiently meet the rising need for help in our community.
