UNITED WAY NAMES VOLUNTEER OF THE YEAR

Cheryl Norey, a United Way volunteer for more than two decades, has been named Volunteer of the Year by the United Way of Jackson County. The local nonprofit also named Grass Lake High School sophomore Carlie Murdock as Youth Volunteer of the Year. The honorees were announced at United Way's Annual Volunteer Reception on December 5th. POWER OF THE PURSE RAISES $26,000
FOR UNITED WAY PROGRAMS

A “Roaring 20s” theme put a little extra power in the Women’s Leadership Council’s fourth annual Power of the Purse event, which raised $26,000 for three local United Way programs.
