In today’s complex world, it can be difficult finding the right program or service to meet your needs. That’s why the United Way (along with LifeWays) led the development of Jackson’s first comprehensive health and human service information and referral call center, 2-1-1.
Whether you are looking for a hot meal or help for an aging parent, childcare or an after-school program or summer camp for your child, or virtually any other non-emergency service, 2-1-1 can help. Simply dial 2-1-1 if you are calling from within Jackson County, or dial (517) 789-1211 if you are outside Jackson County’s limits. You will be connected to a live operator who is specially trained to search through an up-to-date database of services to locate the best possible information and assistance. 2-1-1 is open 24 hours a day, every day of the year.
There is no charge for you to use the 2-1-1 system, though you may incur cell phone or long distance charges, as applicable, but no additional fees are added.
